The 170cm up and coming midcourter switched teams over the off-season after two years with the Magic. She started as a training partner there in 2018, stepped up to a full contract last year and opted to move to the Stars for greater opportunity in 2020. She will often earn the wing defence bib but can play further up the court as well, taking the pathway through the New Zealand Secondary Schools pathway with St Peter’s and earning a place in the Magic’s Beko Netball team three years ago. As a player on the verge of something big, Mather could be one to keep an eye on for the Stars in 2020.
