2019 proved to be the year of Gretel Bueta (nee Tippett) with the highly skilled goaler taking home the coveted Liz Ellis Diamond at the Australian Netball Awards along with being named the International Player of the Year. Bueta is renowned for her sheer explosiveness, unpredictability and talent on the netball court constantly leaving people in awe with her theatrics and enthusiasm.

She frequently stars with her mind boggling and clever goal assists to teammate Romelda Aiken. Bueta frequently impresses with her defensive effort across the court to try and get the ball back with her arms over pressure. With her attacking prowess and class across the court, Bueta can make or break a game. The former basketballer is not afraid to take the game on with her unconventional ways and daring style of play. She has proven that accuracy is no issue and is increasing her volume making her a key cog for the Firebirds.
