In her fourth year at the helm of the Thunder side, the defender is a crucial link down back with her long arms over pressure and cleanliness on and off the ball, utilising her excellent read of the play to continuously impact on the contest. The smooth mover consistently uses her match smarts to not only find the loose ball but also dispose of it efficiently down the court, transitioning well to create forward forays from the back half. A somewhat unassuming player given her smaller build and evasiveness, Dovey is the picture of a player who gets the work done without the flair and pizzazz, instead working hard to continuously have an impact and deny easy ball into the goal circle. The goal defence is impressive at the centre pass, using her positioning and quick footwork to block her opposition attack, using her experience and drive to set an example for her younger teammates and prove that consistency is everything.
