The Australian captain is no stranger to the big stage able to hold her space under the post and command the ball with her height and reach but has struggled to get off the body at times throughout her career. Renowned for her typical holding style she can sometimes be found out, forced to combat the constant physical pressure of her opponent but that does not stop her from delivering under the post. With grit and determination constantly on show Bassett constantly re-offers under the post and uses her footwork to create space in the goal circle whether it be for herself or for her fellow goaler.
Bassett often draws the attention of both defenders credit to her skill and dominance under the post using her height to reel in errant passes. In recent years Bassett has developed her variety, sometimes floating out of the circle but does her most damage from directly under the post with her ability to score quickly and accurately. Her high volume of shots and sheer strength to hold off defenders makes her a key cog in the GIANTS attacking unit.
